Long time, no blog.
A lot has happened since I last blogged:
1) I finished my first set of exams/OSCEs
2) Christmas break
3) I turned 22
4) Started second semester of nursing
I've been having minimal activity on my blog on the account of being lazy and not thinking that anything is significant enough to write about.
First of all, exams were alright. I didn't do exceptionally well, but my marks were already pretty good prior to the final exams that my final marks were also decent. I was most nervous for my OSCEs, which are my practical examinations...kinda like a bell ringer exam where you travel between different stations and perform a certain task, depending on the given situation.
Having clinical at the nursing home was also a good experience. I was able to interact with patients and be introduced to the unfortunate reality of this particular setting - workers are too busy to perform thorough basic needs for the patient, which leaves the patient feeling neglected and usually quite depressed.
I had almost a month off for the Christmas break, but I didn't do anything too extravagant. I worked during the weeks leading to Christmas, and after Christmas I went to Deerhurst for a weekend, where I went skiing. I unfortunately suffered a minor injury while skiing...but that'll pass over time.
I was also able to spontaneously spend NYE at "the Northern Dragon's" house with a couple other friendzies, which was nice. CUE DA MUSIC.
This semester, I have class only on Mon-Wed, with clinical on Thursdays, and Fridays off. Since my clinical placement is at Shaver Hospital, in St. Cats, I go home every Wednesday after my class. Placements this term are in 12 hour shifts, but I don't think it'll be too bad, since I'm familiar with working that long at the pharmacy.
That's about all the new news I can think of atm.
